The Will of King YAHWEH: A Biblical Perspective

Understanding the will of YAHWEH (the personal name of God revealed in Scripture) is one of the most important pursuits for any believer. The Bible presents God’s will not as a mystery meant to confuse us, but as something revealed through His Word, His character, and His relationship with His people.

Let’s break it down clearly and biblically.

1. God’s Will Is Rooted in His Character

Before looking at actions, we must understand this:God’s will flows from who He is.

YAHWEH is:

  • Holy

  • Righteous

  • Loving

  • Just

  • Faithful

So His will will always reflect those attributes.

“The Lord is righteous in all His ways and faithful in all He does.” (Psalm 145:17)

This means: God’s will is never corrupt, selfish, or unstable—it is always good, just, and purposeful.

2. God’s Will Is Revealed Through His Word

The clearest way to understand God’s will is through Scripture.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

The Bible doesn’t just inspire—it instructs.

Examples of God’s Revealed Will:

  • Salvation through Christ“[God] desires all people to be saved…” (1 Timothy 2:4)

  • Living a holy life“This is the will of God, your sanctification…” (1 Thessalonians 4:3)

  • Giving thanks in all things“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will…” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

These are not suggestions—these are clearly stated expressions of God’s will.

3. God’s Will Is Both General and Personal

A. General Will (for everyone)

These are universal principles:

  • Love God and seek his Kingdom

  • Love people

  • Live righteously

  • Walk in humility

  • Seek justice

“He has shown you… what is good: to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)

B. Personal Will (for your life specifically)

This includes:

  • Your purpose

  • Your assignments

  • Your decisions (career, relationships, direction)

God reveals this through:

  • Prayer

  • Scripture

  • Wisdom

  • The Holy Spirit

  • Counsel

“Trust in the Lord… and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5–6)

Personal will never contradict God’s written Word.

4. God’s Will vs. Human Will

One of the biggest tensions in Scripture is this:

God has a will—and humans have a will.

God does not force obedience; He invites alignment.

“Choose this day whom you will serve…” (Joshua 24:15)

Even Jesus Christ modeled submission:

“Not my will, but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42)

This shows that walking in God’s will often requires surrender.

5. God’s Will Is Not Always Easy—But It Is Always Good

Many assume God’s will equals comfort—but biblically, that’s not always true.

God’s will may involve:

  • Growth through trials

  • Sacrifice

  • Obedience when it’s difficult

“All things work together for good…” (Romans 8:28)

The promise is not ease—the promise is purpose.

6. How to Discern the Will of YAHWEH

1. Through Scripture

If it contradicts the Bible—it’s not God’s will.

2. Through Prayer

Consistent communication brings clarity.

3. Through Peace (not just feelings)

God’s direction often brings inner confirmation.

4. Through Wisdom and Counsel

God uses people to confirm direction.

5. Through the Holy Spirit

“He will guide you into all truth…” (John 16:13)

7. A Practical Example

Let’s say you’re making a business decision:

Align with God’s Will:

  • Is it ethical?

  • Does it serve others?

  • Does it reflect integrity?

  • Have you prayed about it?

If yes → You’re likely walking in alignment.

8. The Ultimate Will of God

When you simplify everything, the will of YAHWEH comes down to this:

1. Relationship

God desires to know you and be known by you.

2. Transformation

To make you more like Christ.

3. Purpose

To use your life to impact others and advance His Kingdom.

Final Thought

The will of YAHWEH is not hidden to frustrate you—it is revealed to guide you.

You don’t find God’s will by chasing signs…You find it by walking with Him daily.
